‘We Deliver Solutions that exceed our customer’s expectations’.
Infrastructure is the fundamental facilities and systems necessary for a country’s economy to function. South Africa’s Electrical Infrastructure is no different and plays a significant role in our daily lives.
Tushia (Pty) Ltd recognizes how crucial a stable electricity supply is to our country and has consequently focused our attention on this area as one of our key services.
For the past two and a half decades, we have specialized in the supply and maintenance of only the best infrastructure in the country. Our ability to consistently deliver top quality products and exceptional service delivery has earned us trust in the industry.
Our expertise at Tushia can be offered to clients in a comprehensive engineering package to include any or all of the following:
Tushia provide Project Management services to allow delivery of a range of Projects from initiation to handover.
Our highly trained Project Managers will provide effective leadership and management of project teams and ensure effective communication throughout the Project. They will also take responsibility for procurement of equipment, subcontractors and sourcing specialist suppliers.
The Project Manager will ensure that all project activities/project team are fully compliant with the Company Safety, Environment and Quality Management System and relevant statutory regulations
The aim being that the project is completed safely and successfully, meeting its KPI’s for time, cost, and quality and ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
Tushia provide Site Management services to allow delivery of a range of Projects through the installation phase.
We have authorised Site Managers and site teams inc. wiremen who are available to work across the country to ensure that the site construction stage is done to client specification and in accordance with Tushia SHEQ standards.
Tushia offers a full turnkey primary design service.
We can provide primary layout drawings using both 3D modelling techniques as well as conventional CAD techniques to ensure that the ‘footprint’ of the substation and space utilisation is maximised. We will also take into account the build sequence as well as considering the lifetime operability and maintenance requirements during the design process.
We can also specify the primary equipment, design substation earthing arrangements and produce relevant calculations to ensure conformance with industry standards.
Additionally we also have the ‘in house’ expertise to produce HV cable calculations, loadings and reports etc.
We can provide a wide range of power system studies including coordination studies using the latest industry software.
Additionally we have dedicated protection settings engineers who can analyse the system parameters and provide detailed setting reports and relay setting files to suit.
We offer ‘system’ feasibility studies and can also provide comprehensive site visit reports if required.
Additionally we can also provide detailed or ‘high level’ functional design specifications and reports in a format to match the customers expectations.
Both conventional and integrated SCMS control & protection systems for new or refurbished sites. This includes both hardwired and software based scheme & logic designs.
One of Tushia’s key strengths is the ability to take a ‘high level’ conceptual design and turn it into a detailed working solution. This may either be as a stand alone system or integration into an already existing system. We will produce design outputs typically in the form of drawings such as schematic diagrams, logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable block diagrams and fibre diagrams to integrate and connect the system together. We would also take into account any ‘staged’ work and system constraints especially when integrating with existing arrangements to ensure the system is installed with minimal disruption and ‘outage time.
We will design the system to be located into a suitable housing (cubicle or wallbox etc ) as required by the clients specifications. Once completed and to the satisfaction of the customer we will handover a detailed package of assembly drawings and General Arrangements etc for future use and record purposes.
Additionally using our approved suppliers we can also offer competitively priced manufacture of the systems above and include Factory Acceptance testing (FAT) prior to arranging shipping of the equipment.
Tushia engineers have extensive experience with multiple vendor technology IED’s and control systems, and due to this we can confidently configure and test site specific systems.
Our engineers can produce configuration files, setting files etc. either remotely at our premises or alternatively we can visit the customer and upload the relevant files whilst at the same time providing instructions to future users.
We also offer support services if required. Meaning if there are any issues one of our engineers will be available to provide support/guidance.
Tushia have extensive experience in providing detailed structured test documentation.
Our design and system engineers can compile suitable test sequences and procedures to fully functional test any protection and control scenario. We provide Factory Acceptance Test documentation (FAT) and Site Commissioning Test Documentation tailored to the system under test. We can also offer independent witness testing at manufacturers premises and provide comprehensive witness test reports.
We offer both bespoke system test documentation and also industry standard test documentation as required.
Tushia have their own Commissioning Engineers to safely and reliably test and commission HV equipment and plant. Our knowledgeable & well trained staff utilise the most modern test equipment available to ensure the system is ‘fit’ for purpose and installed and operating both safely and to optimal system performance.
Our EHV, HV and MV Commissioning Services include but are not limited to the following:
- Client representation and witness testing
- Commissioning of Transmission and Distribution systems including Onshore and Offshore testing of windfarms etc.
- Primary and secondary injection of protection devices & systems.
- Specialised IEC 61850 testing, and support
- Electrical and mechanical function testing of Substation Control and Protection schemes, Switchgear, Disconnectors etc.
- Testing of Motor control centres and systems
- Transformer testing including tap changer and AVC schemes
The commissioning process will be methodically managed, controlled and documented from start to finish.
Tushia have dedicated specialists who are able to design configure and test IEC61850 systems using the latest tools and software.
